“Reach Out To Comfort” – Just for Today

I will be posting a separate section of the poem Just for Today  to ponder every couple of days.  The poem was written for bereaved parents by Vicki Tushingham.  Feel free to share with others.

Just For Today For Bereaved Parents  (Section 5)

Just for today I will reach out to comfort a relative or friend of my child, for they are hurting too, and perhaps we can help each other.

As hard as it is to help others while you are going through your our pain, there is healing in it.  Healing because you know the pain they also feel and you want to do what ever you can to help relieve their pain.  One thing I learned about myself as I traveled through this painful journey is that I have realized I have become a more compassionate person.  I try to reach out to others that are struggling.  Because I know how much that means to the person receiving the compassion.  What has you experiences been with this issue?
